About repetition. About that small space between sleep and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From an anthropological perspective, rituals often emerge around repetitive actions that provide structure and predictability to everyday life. Coffee has become exactly that for modern society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/history-of-coffee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Historically,<\/a> coffee originated in Ethiopia and Yemen. During the 15th and 16th centuries, it began to be consumed in communal spaces known as qahveh khaneh throughout the Middle East\u2014places for conversation, reflection, and the exchange of ideas.<br>Later, European coffeehouses became cultural and intellectual centers. In 17th-century London, they were sometimes called \u201cpenny universities\u201d because people could enter, buy a cup of coffee, and take part in discussions about politics, philosophy, and science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sociologists and anthropologists have observed that small daily rituals can reduce the feeling of chaos and strengthen a sense of psychological continuity. Even a simple gesture, repeated with awareness, can become a form of emotional regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes coffee is not really about coffee.<br>It is about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the morning light,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the quiet before the messages begin to arrive,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a hand on the cup,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a familiar aroma,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>those few moments when you are still with yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Japan, <a href=\"https:\/\/iuliavs.ro\/en\/tag\/ritualul-ceaiului-in-japonia\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"368\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-woostify-primary-color\">the tea ceremony<\/mark><\/a> evolved into a spiritual art.<br>In Ethiopia, the traditional coffee ceremony is still practiced slowly and collectively, as both a social and symbolic act.<br>In Turkey, coffee has been part of gatherings, negotiations, and family rituals for centuries.<br>And today, in homes across the world, morning coffee has become the first moment of returning to oneself before the day truly begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps not all modern rituals look sacred.
